Is this nickel worth holding on to? I found this about 3 weeks ago coin roll hunting. It is missing the "WE TRUST" and part of the date and the word liberty. Also on the back
E PLURIBUS UNUM is very light, but the MONTICRLLO building is very sharp and clear with 4 to 5 clear steps. I am very curious about this coin and if anyone has any input or info I would really appreciate the help.
Thanks

Is it worth keeping? No.

Simplely a spendable example of a nickel w/ a slight defect.
Keep it if it intrigues you or a sample for reference, but you'll see many examples of this CRHing.

to the forum!

It is a filled die error.
If it were a weak strike, the rims would not be fully formed.

Nice find!

Thank you CWB for explaining the difference between a fill die and a weak strike. I am still learning and I like the coin and will keep it.
