I may have used the wrong term for that . is it a Retained Cud , BIE or a die chip ?

That little wad on top of his head? Die chip. "BIE" type errors are catalogued at cuds-on-coins as LDB (Lincoln die break) and are limited to die chips between the letters of LIBERTY -- not necessarily between the B and E.

My understanding of a Retained Cud is a die crack running from rim to rim that hasn't broken off the die yet to allow a Cud to be minted.

Awesome coin Pbp. I lose some perspective in the series of pictures. You could probably help yourself a lot if you could shoot the head in one or two shots. No worries, Lincoln is used to that anyway. lol

Thanks coinmasters and thanks for the advice ! Lol I have a coin I call the assassination It has a zinc bubble right behind the head that looks like a mini ball and has a scratch that looks like a tracer . I never posted it because I didn't know if it would offend anyone . Maybe one day I will . Again thanks !

I used to think it was in poor taste, but it's done on here so much I have shifted course. Nothing like a good shattered head!

When I talk to Lincoln's family, I believe my first instinct was correct. I extend my apology.

I'm the one with the penny labeled assassination no apology necessary.
