I'm always doubtful when I think I have a good one, so please take a look at this.

I've never given the 1955 DD a close look before.

Both 5s in the date are gummed up and so is the 9.

I've attached a photo, a date close up, and a picture of the reverse just for fun.

Do I have a neat penny?

EDIT: I do get that this is an S. I've just looked at a lot of Google Images, and the numbers in my date look different.

Those are from chips on the die - nice to find 3 numbers on one coin all with die chips.

Chips, huh? As a novice, that wouldn't have crossed my mind. I'm pretty glad I noticed it.

I am going to keep it out of the "junk" wheats, though. It is at least kind of a novelty!

Thanks for your reply.

Nice one to have three filled numbers/ die chips! I can't quite tell but I might see a die crack and/or die chip on the right wheat stalk on the reverse.
