That's kind of why I bought it, but in hand, it doesn't look too promising. Nothing to lose. I will see if I can flick off some of the encrustations with my pin and pin vise and repost. May be a Seleucid issue, with - maybe - an unbearded diademed male obverse? Although there's lots of encrustation on the reverse, perhaps covering some lines of text, it does look like the line at right might be the alpha-sigma-iota-lambda-epsilon of BASILEWS: I also think the reverse figure might be holding a cornucopia: So - maybe (?) - a Seleucid issue, like perhaps Antiochus XII, with standing Tyche (with cornucopia) reverse, with BASILEWS at right? For comparison, with yours at top: Cleaning will help pin it down, of course. Report this Post to the Staff
