what be very usefull would be a live on line chat room anout coins, metel detecting, and all the other fun stuff, but here we all have to wait and see what the next messeage will be (that sometimes takes weeks) please have a open chat place! that would be really great for new comers such as my self and ten's of thousands of others like me

What is the difference between a chat room and this forum?

1. I could make a forum here called "chat room" in about 15 seconds.

2. I could spend hours installing chat room software.

The end result is exactly the same. A list of comments forming a conversation, with both being real time. Except in a chat room, when you leave all the information is gone forever which is the exact opposite of what we're trying to accomplish here.

What is the point?

And FYI, there's a ton of forums out there with chat rooms attached and they're always empty.

I am with Dad on this one. The forum in essences is a chat room with history. Topic areas are divided in to points of interest which can always be expanded if you have suggestions. Not sure what the diff would be. A little more education on this might help me, though.

Also, in my experience, chat rooms are often some what rancorous and often off topic. The nice thing about the forum concept is that the moderators can work to keep conversations friendly and on subject.

See it works. We are all chatting.
That makes this a chat room I guess.

the only nice thing about having a chat room is that you can ask quick questions that are worth starting a thread over, the beginner questions that get asked a thousand times. other than that they just turn into random discussions having nothing to do with coins at all

No such thing.

And as I've stated many times here, I've yet to see a forum chat room with anyone in it.
