I am having trouble finding information about the 1982-d copper small date. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, that's because, officially, there were none minted. A few may have slipped through as error coins: http://goccf.com/t/280749

If you're hunting for those, just learn to differentiate large date from small dates and set aside any small date 1982 cents minted in Denver. Weigh those to determine if you have zinc (2.5g) or copper (3.1g).
Rest in Peace

to the forum!

There is some information about them here: http://www.lincolncentsonline.com/r...rieties.html
Another page about it here: http://www.numismaticnews.net/artic...copper-found

To date, there is only one known example of this coin in the 95% Copper alloy. There are most likely many more out there. The way to tell the difference between the Copper and the 97.5% Zinc cents is to weigh them.
