A family member gave me these some time ago. I have never really collected notes before and have no knowledge of them. BUT since I am now kind of getting into coins I thought I might try to find out more about these. I know they are US but I figured some of the experts here may be able to help me with identification and values on these just for my information so I can catalog them into my collection.

I have 12 and so didn't want to kill anyone with so many photos. I'm breaking them up into 4 posts.

Thanks in advance!
Blair

I can't move it can I and there wasn't a spot for notes over there but if you can move them I would appreciate it. I just want them to be seen by people who might be experts in this type of currency.

and Thank you for the welcome!

It looks like you changed your post for the Barber quarter because one of these pics is there now instead of the obverse.

#'s 1 & 2 Japanese occupation currency (Philippines), #3 1 Silver Gluden 1938 Dutch (Holland)

The Japanese stuff is VERY common, no premiums at all. I'd be interested in the dutch gluden if I were you, directly before Holland fell to Germany in WW2!

Yes, the Japanese notes are very common and have very little value.

Nice gift from your family member!

I looked at all your posts. It's a nice collection of notes.

I just wanted to comment on the JIM (Japanese Invasion Money). It's an interesting topic. If you have an interest in WWII history, I think you might like to collect more of these. And the nice part is that the majority of them can be found in very nice condition for very reasonable prices.

Here's the Wikipedia page on JIM; it's a very good introduction to an interesting topic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan...vasion_money
