Came across this today . Licensed by the government. They call it a coin. No face value but is 79.95.

Neither coin nor token, as it has no denomination.
It is simply a medallion, a round souvenir.
We are likely to see dozens of similar items this year.
Any individual or company can apply for use of the logo, it's free and simple to apply for.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Being a geologist... the cool factor in this medal with a small ammolite is through the roof!! I love it!!

1967 saw a huge number of privately issued and even municipality issued medals, celebrating the country's centennial... I doubt we will ever see that sheer number of exonumia issues again, but it is nice seeing some privately issued 150th anniversary medals!!

I have something along those lines: A 1971 medallion commemorating British Columbia's confederation to Canada.
Got it for $3 in a shop. Don't seem to be very common.

*These medallions aren't mine, just examples of what mine looks like.
