Quote: You expect these coins to be rare Of course they won't be since they minted millions of them. It is worth 25 cents now and it will be worth 25 cents 20 years from now or 50 years from now. There is no premium for these coins, just like common stamps from 50 Years ago which are still being used for postage.

Not entirely sure how you're using the word "premium", but it commonly refers to some measure of price that is over and above the normal, I think. There is need to dispute brutal facts, unless there is a process to be elucidated. Just saying I'm not arguing with the money here: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/125TH-ANNIVE...192132096309

The point I was trying to get across was that a commemorative coin that celebrates a national past time will be produced in the 20 million or more range especially a 25 cent piece, there's no need to hurry to get it, in fact soon will be available at banks for face. You mentioned the nice colour poppy series, was just notice the Cambridge coin show at least 3 dealers had many rolls for about 3 to 4 dollar premium, I doubt really worth the dealers time for lugging them around. The 1991 25 cent rolls value stems from lack of demand and a strike, so unless special forces happen, these coins will be worth 25 cents.

Nice scores, 2017 clt hunters! I've tried my luck at several different banks. Even ones I don't have an account with. Apparently they don't usually order coins, and none so far has agreed to order quarters in for me. Also, every teller I've spoken with has consistently expressed experience that their bank "used to get shipments from the mint but hasn't in a very long time." It truly does feel like hunting (like I'd know). Perhaps now that some of the 150 coins --maybe even some 'regulars!'-- are also becoming available I will have more luck. I know they want me to buy those sets. "Come on, buy the sets, you know you want to" says the little horned creature what I am ignoring. Basically getting cup quarters at face value means I can 1) lower the cost base of the quarters purchased via special wrap program, and 2) pass them along to my daughter to promote a healthy interest in matters numismatical, economic and financial. I'm encouraging her to collect only coins available at fv, and leaving out the part about how much dad is spending to accomplish this.

Did manage to score a couple of 'souvenir umbrellas' (Rainbrella) @ Home Depot. $18. Umbrellas have the Canada 150 13 point maple leaf or whatever they are claiming it is emblazoned on a white canvas. I like it. Hoping they won't be needed onthe Big Day. Glad I got them.

For instance, the umbrella company all they had to do was ask for permission to use the 150 symbol and you would be granted free usage.

I hope the umbrella was made in Canada.

I purchased a special wrap roll on a whim since we never seem to get new release coins around here until late in the year. I was very disappointed to discover both ends show the obverse side of the coin. Now I have to trust that there are actually Stanley Cup quarters in there. Would you crack it? I'm not very trusting. This is killing me.
