Came upon this today and think it may not have its copper coating? It is the same size as the regular pennies and weighs 2.45 grams. Any thoughts? Someone scratched it before I got it. The bottom pic has a pink tint to it, but the coin's reverse side is the same as the front.

No, it's not a fake coin.

Sometimes people will removed the Copper plating from modern cents. This happens more often than one might think. I have even heard of it being common practice is school science experiments.

The weight of your coin is consistent with a genuine unplated error cent, but there are other factors to consider when trying to determine if it is a genuine error, or an altered coin.
