Hi. I dug this up in the garden years ago and have not been able to identify it. Has anyone seen anything similar? Is it likely to be a coin, medallion or token? Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Many thanks.

I know of no coin that looks like that. So I am saying it is a token or medallion.
My next thought was Is it a Conder Token? I do not think so.
There were hundreds if not thousands of designs for the British 'Hard Times' tokens. It is possible that it is one, but I do not think so.

I think it is a medallion, maybe a memento from a circus. Whatever it is it is rather cool.

Thank you Tryna - I haven't come across anything with the same markings on the internet. I think you're right - it's probably a token or a medallion of some sort.

It looks like an ancient Greek coin to me.

Googling { dove standing right } brought up a Roman with a similar dove.

Sorry to send you back to the unidentified section But,

I think this may be some type of English Token and not an ancient coin.

Going to move this back to the Unidentified section.

Thanks everyone - I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that it's some sort of lead token. Would be interesting to know it anyone else has one with the same markings?
