It has taken me awhile to find (and afford) a nice Capped Bust quarter Dollar for my type set but I finally got the coin I wanted at a small coin show last weekend. I had to pay close to retail for this one but I really like it. PCGS graded it XF-40. So now the Classic Head Cent is my top priority .... not going to be easy.

I like it too. The rotation is a nice addition. Do you think it's graded appropriately?

I believe so [compared mine to a number of XF-40 coins online]but would like your opinions. Sorry about the not great pictures.

Still surprised that there are 185 Capped Bust quarters currently available on ebay. That's quite a few in my opinion although a good number of them are low grade and ugly.

Honestly I'd grade it at vf35. Maybe I'm focusing on the obverse to much. I still like the coin a lot.

Looks like I butchered that last comment - In my previous comment I meant to say that there are 185 1834 CBQs currently on ebay and that for how scarce CBQs are that number kind of surprises me.

It's possible. The reverse is a lot stronger than the obverse.

Either way at VF-35 OR XF-40 I'm happy since this coin has the original surfaces and eye appeal that I try to go for when adding coins to my collection.

They are scarce. Rarely do they come up for auction aside from signature auctions. And even those have a very limited selection. Congrats on the pickup!
