I have the opportunity to buy $80 worth of wheat cents for $320. Is this a good deal? I just wanted to know if I should pass this up or not. Thanks for your help.

you need to look at the years. Is this deal on ebay or at a shop?

4 cents each is a decent price as long as they are not culls or all from the 40s and 50s.

.04 cents apiece would be $320.00........IMHO I think that's a good deal no matter what the dates are !
If it's from a coin shop.......likely all of the good dates have been picked out of there.......probably still so from ebay........
if this is just a regular person though......JUMP AT IT !
But that's a good fair price for the average ole Wheat penny
The newest one would be 50 years old......and it's the ever growing popular Wheat cent.........I'd take the deal even if they HAD been picked through.....but that's just me.
But what are the details with this "seller"?......

Eaglefoot,

I really know nothing about the seller. I just asked him via craislist if he still has them. I think I might bite the bullet and get them. Who knows what I will find...

If the seller has nothing to hide, and lets you quickly glance through the lot before you buy, that should tell you all. Good luck!

Connor; it depends, too, on what you plan to do with the cents after you buy them. Numismedia values the the 1958 Wheat cent at 5 cents in Good condition. And, the earlier the dates and/or the better the grade, the more valuable.

One caution: if all those rolls turn out to be 40's and 50's and are damaged by something like a coin machine, they aint gonna be worth what you're paying for them, in my opinion.
