Nice die crack, but that is one bust-ugly obverse . (don't get me wrong, I've got a lot of ugly coins like most of us)

Yes. This was relegated to my spare pile. Might be my only die crack. Soaked in acetone after the picture but didn't improve the obverse, seems like paint on the coin.

This is my 42 Die Crack, only it's on the Obverse. I think it it is a "Flat back 9, Narrow date, Straight 4,High2" but I could be wrong. Welcome any correction.

Hi Tee: Nice Die crack...... terrible looking coin. Could be early Zoell FL443r.

Hi JimmyD: 1942 Obverse Die Cracks are quite common. I know of 43 different ones and Zoell only catalogued 10 of them., This particular one was not catalogued by Zoell, but I did assign it variety number FL443ak. Nice one and good photography.

pginrh- Thanks for the info, didn't know that about the die cracks. Still have lots to learn.
PS- Is the variety I assigned this coin correct? I have another one that is the same.

Thanks again, good to know. Because my eyes aren't what they used to be, I find it easier to take an enlarged picture and draw a line to ID the variety as opposed to looking through a glass.
