Looking close at this one, marks are contact marks, PMD. The line is a scratch that has taken material from outside in to touching the buffalo's back, other is just mark, You are seeing more than is there, stettle down, relax, you're too anxious to find something. You will know it when it comes.

New collector's do this all the time. You need to learn WHAT the errors really are before searching for them, Pick one like the Wide AM of the 1998,2000 penny reverse?

to the Forum. I respectfully disagree with Crazyb0. I think the best way to learn is to post everything that you are not sure of. As you have just learned these are contact marks, the people on here will help you learn other things.

Ehh, I'll walk the middle ground here. It's helpful to post when you believe you have an error coin because it could be an educational experience for OP and others. However, it's important to know what you're looking for first. I haven't been on the forums long, but everyone has made me feel welcome. But, I've somehow been around long enough to see a few newbies dive too deep into the rabbit hole, flood the forums with newfound errors, then have their interest fizz out when they keep getting hit with disheartening news that it's usually PMD.

I can tell you being a newbie myself and doing everything these guys are talking about it's very easy to look too hard and don't become disheartened at a no use it as an educational experience I still get tunnel vision and these guys are always here to help snap me back to reality . The folks on here are the most helpful I have experienced . They know more about coins than the people that work at the mint and they will share their knowledge with you freely whether it's a yes or a no. Look at others posts and learn from them as well but the main thing is keep searching and researching and you will get what you are searching for . Good luck!
