Hey guys,

I was wondering if there is a complete list of pre 1965 Jefferson nickel errors. I have a large pile of pre 1965 Jefferson nickels to look through for errors. I'm in a hurry to look through it as I've got a huge shipment of pennies coming in at 6 pm. So I'd like to know what I'm looking for.

I apologize if I'm being ignorant. I'm new and have started heavily bank roll hunting just last week, keeping Lincoln cents and wheat cents. I've been using CoinTrackers, but I feel as if the website is incomplete as the coin collecting universe is so much bigger than I originally thought.

Thank you in advance,

TheodoreMagnus

P.S. who is your favorite president? Mine is Abe.

Go to the top of the page in this link and click "nickel doubled dies". From there you can find RPM,s and other things. Also don't forget to keep an eye out for clashes and such.

In terms of errors, its just the standard Major Die Breaks (also called Cuds), partial collars, broadstrikes, die chips, struck through errors, struck through capped die, ect. Partial collars and die breaks are more frequent than most other types of errors in searching for nickels. You also want to look out for large misaligned dies, though minor misalgined dies aren't really worth saving.
There are a wide number of varieties though.

The link provides various varieties, some of which are errors as well.
P.S. Jefferson
