Maybe those hits/anomalies are just a coincidence. I was trying to match them up with the reverse of the coin.  |

I thought that's what you might be doing. I've set it next to another to see if for some reason it would line up or match but it looks like it's the opposite of lining up. If that makes any sense.

You're looking in the right area and have the right idea. If anything, the die also would have been rotated. I'm thinking just post mint damage. Here's an overlay of the coin.  |
