Ouch! Looks like it was stuck somewhere and was pulled out with pliers.

I guess smushing coins under a train counts as vandalism. I grew up with a railroad track running through the back yard of my neighbors place. Smushing coins was just part of life. Now riding scenic and historical railways and trains are another one of my pastimes. As part of my coin collection I document my "Smushes" from special trains. I was fortunate enough to have a recent rail trip through the Canadian Rockies. I took several old Canadian Pennies along for smushing. I was not permitted to place the coins on the track myself for safety reasons but the railroad workers very kindly arranged to do so for me when the train was being switched to a siding for the night. Oddly, at least to me, this was the first such request they had ever had.

British Queen Anne Crown - at some stage it's been converted to a brooch, but, surprisingly, the mount marks are on the obverse rather than the reverse.
