I've acquired quite a few coins and was wondering if anyone vacuum seals their coins. I've seen this topic on the forum, some dated back to 2007. The information seems sporadic, and food saver recommends placing some paper on the waffle side of the bag for protection. Since air/moisture are the causes of deterioration, is this not the way to go? Verdicare and seal them away?

Caddofarms: Do you know if the shrink film used is PVC free? May be reason for not doing it.

Food saver bags are polyethylene/nylon.

Food-safe bags should not contain PVC.

I've never tried it but I don't see any harm other than difficulty accessing them.

For longer term storage, I think it will help protect them.

As long as it is safe - I think that is a great idea.

i wouldn't put paper in with it, long term storage the paper will do weird things to the coin.., unless it is archival paper..

I vacuum seal wrapped rolls for long term storage. I've also vacuum sealed coins in 2 x 2s. So far I've not noticed any ill effects.
