Hi can anyone tell me any approximate value on my 1980 one cent with parralel lines and what steps I should take next with this? Thank You

Conveyor roller lines within a counting machine. If soaking in acetone DOESN'T remove them, then it's a "Woodie", planchet flaw.

Seeing damage on reverse looks like it was caught in conveyor belt...

It's called a woody, looks like wood. Cents in the late 70s early 80s seem to have this effect, along with wheat cents. The reverse is damage after the strike. No added value.

Thank you for the welcoming and responses! I am new at this, but I enjoy trying to find good pieces, I wish I had more time to study it. I heard not to clean them so I don't plan on soaking it. If it were stuck in a conveyor, wouldn't the letters be affected where the lines are? Thank You

Don't think it is a true woody. It looks like roller lines. Never heard of removing them with acetone. Here is a link with a bunch of info,I still don't fully understand it though. http://goccf.com/t/239497&whichpage=1

I've tried to read/research a bit about this, but it seems to me that everyone is a little confused as to exactly what this is. In light of this, does anyone think I should have this appraised/graded? Thnx

No. Put it in a 2x2 and label it for now.
