If I'm not mistaken, this is a 1864 Two Cent small motto. I can't bid on this, but you guys can.

Aww, man! I wish I had seen this earlier! I spent quite a bit of time a while back looking at all of the 1864 2c listings on ebay trying to hunt down an unattributed small motto. It took days to get through 2k+ listings. (Obviously, I didn't sit in front of a computer all day, but I switched from CAM cherrypicking to this.)

Next time you see one, feel free to shoot me a message. It definitely is the small motto. My pick up points were the leaf cluster on the left side and the shape between the top of the shield and the leaves.

I went to check out the seller's other listings. He has a 1864 2c listed as a small motto: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1864-Two-Ce...72630192345? but this is the large motto.

Hm, maybe he got his coins mixed up.

P.S: Narrow down the thousands of listings by searching this:
1864 Two Cent -large -small -1865 -1866 -1867 -1868 -1869 -1870
(Taking out large&small makes the results unattributed, taking out the other dates takes out lots)

When I did it, I just searched "1864 Two Cent" in US coins. I didn't think to take out "large" or "small," but I figured people might have coins attributed incorrectly, as is the case with your original seller. I think I may have limited it to the 2 cent category because I was getting other denominations in there as well. The winner of that auction used an autobidding snipe app though -- winning bid was placed one second before the sale ended. I suspect winner knew what he was bidding on.
