As you've surely heard by now the Dexter 1804 $ sold in Pogue V for $3.29MM to John Albanese and was quickly flipped to Bruce Morelan for an undisclosed profit. They discussed how Pogue kind of stuck it to themselves by what happened at Pogue IV where they had spirited bidding on the Child's 1804 dollar to $10MM and then the coin passed as it did not hit the hidden reserve.

There are so few bidders at this level that even the perception that they might do it again drove some bidders away and created an amazing bargain. Funny dat. I wish I could copy the article, but I cannot. Its worth a read if you get the sheet.

ATS he indicated it was "less than a couple bidding increments" still serious $ at that level.
