This penny looks unusual.. or is it just me?

Nothing special unfortunately, just wear and EVD. The flat shiny areas are just just the higher areas of the coin that have been worn down from usage. The redish color can come from the coin being in the dirt for awhile. Verdigris is the green stuff on your coin, usually more prone to developing on the copper coins.

I'm hoping you still check in, because I just ran across the same penny, and yes I see the exact same imagine as you saw, that's how I found your post, was by asking google about this same penny being a 3-D or an error,did you ever find anything else about it, I'm sure nobody can tell anything by the image you download,they just need to see it in their hands in order to see what we see of it, so please don't give up because I have never seen any penny like it
