I have a number of 1899 last 9 repunched, but this one looks to me to be tripled. The coin is dark, and the pictures of the entire coin dim, but the closeups are clear. Please let me know what you think.

Yep, that's the one that we included in the 2011 Charlton, back variety pages. It's on p 345. There's lots of R/P'd 9's for that date, as well as spacing differences and slightly different fonts.

Do like the repunched 9. If you like repunching on coin then you will find the year 1881 to be exciting.
