So I'm at my local coin club which is a 7:30pm on Tuesday. The weekly Heritage auction starts at 8pm, so while somebody is reading a really boring treasurer's report, I am using the HA mobile app watching the lots go down. Normally I disable bidding when I use my phone in this app, but I forgot to do so this time. In the Capped Bust quarters, my phone slipped out of my hand and as I grabbed it I hit the Cut Bid button and bid $270 on an F-15 Capped Bust half. Aghast, I watched the lot go going once, going twice, then someone bid $280 and the lot closed shortly afterwards. Good grief! Sorry I cost the winner another $20, but nearly gave myself a heart attack in the process. Never going to forget to disable bidding when watching an auction go down again.

I wouldn't feel too sorry about the person with the winning bid. No one forced him/her to put in a higher bid. I'd be happy someone took it off my hands for an accident like that. IMHO
