I noticed this cent had many of the die markers. Is this the 1958D DDO?

My Microscope is not as good as the one used to show on the site but even the shapes of the inside of the letters seems right though mine does look like a later die state... What do y'all think?

Thanks in advance,
Blair

Don't know Blair. Can't get above 1950 on my Wexlers site and Coppercoins doesn't have Wexler's listed, closest they have is a 004 but don't think that is it. I'm seeing some MD bouncing around motto and Mintmark, slight...

Get my message @ your 55D's? If you have an LED flashlight, you might try shining it as well as scope light to take off the shadows on pix, try it from a 7 o'clock position.

I will thanks! I'll do it first thing in the morning. I'm stuck in bed with a bum foot so I'll have plenty of time.

Your pics don't show the doubling of the coin on VV . Check the bottom of the B in Liberty and top of the 9 in the date.

Just looked at the listing in Variety vista, that is same mint mark as listed in Coppercoins as 1958D-1MM-004...hummmmm?

Stoneman I agree, no doubling shows on OP's coin and I noted that the die scratch patterns are just a wee bit different, enough to be a fooler. Suspect this is a separate hubbing when making a master die as used in DDO example? WAG

Crazyb0, I think your are getting the single squeeze die making era methods mixed up with the methods that were used before.
The two D's are not the same and the master dies of this era did not have the mintmark on them

Not a match to 001. I don't think it is a DDO at all.You need to filter the light on your scope and if you use an LED flashlight, filter that light also. On the flashlight use a single coffee filter.
