Picked it up on ebay for C$45 + C$7 shipping. For those who haven't bought one, here are the pros and cons as I see it.

Pros:
- Coin is very large and thin. In size, it appears to be a 3 oz coin.
- Concept is cool
- Packing and kaleidoscope are fun and interesting
- the Queen's side of the coin has a circular calligraphy etching, which looks very sharp.

Cons:
- Polar bear side is very low quality. It is printed onto a flat blank with no relief whatsoever. The image is very low quality, it looks like it was printed onto the coin by a colour dot matrix printer.
- image quality is so poor, that it minimizes the effect of the kaleidoscope. In fact, it only kind of achieves this effect.
- in my case, the image was not centred on the coin properly, so you could see the 'guide marks' used to line up the blank.
- just generally not impressed with the poor craftsmanship of the polar bear side of the coin.

@JGG

Wow....only $45.00!! That is a bargain. I have all three with the subscription box and I paid full price.

Hi New, for 2017 I have been doing all my purchases on ebay and a lot of times the lowball bids stick. You can get some really good deals from the wholesalers hired to clear out RCM inventory, or sellers like Dalhousie Auctions.

You got a good deal on that coin, congrats! Take a look at the "geometry in art" series if you are interested in another option with a different design. CP outlets have them available at issue price, although I suspect by now they can be had for less than issue (have not checked).

Cheers!

Yeah that's an amazing deal, especially this soon after release. But I guess your disappointment in the coin reflects the downside of after market online buying - at an LCS you can look at in hand and if you had got it from RCM you could always just return it for full refund.
Great deal and sorry you weren't happier with the coin.

@Alex A

I really like that geometry in art series! I have two because of the packaging and the designs are awesome.

Will definitely gift one to a family member.
