Thanks for posting that, enjoyable read. Always loved the Peace dollar. It was a 1922D given to me as a present that started my collection so many years ago . .

One of my first coins was a really nice 1928-P given to me by my uncle. Stupid me as a kid, I traded it for an uncirculated set of 1934 to date (1964 or so as I recall) cents. Dumb move.

Pretty much chimes in on what my dealer told me that Peace dollars are a sleeper series and that prices of them have been gradually climbing while Morgan's have been gradually declining. I'm trying to do a ms63 or better PCGS collection. Need 21, 24s, 25s, 26s, 27d and s, 28, 34 p d and s, and 35s. Gradually I will fill these gaps.

Larry is correct of course. However his 98% of peace collectors not liking toning is a bit misleading. Its because they tend to tone ugly. Beautifully toned Peace dollars or ones with minimal color but good eye appeal are hot. I just sold a 24p in PCGS 64 with nice but minimal color for $300
