The PCGS price guide lists this one at $900. There are some on ebay right now for well over $1000. Last night this one ended at $152.50. I placed a bid of $150 and lost. I'm not too enamored with this coin. I just don't like the look of it, but whoever won it didn't win it at all. They stole it. The seller is known for selling artificially toned Ikes by the truck load, or at least they offer them by the truck load. Thoughts? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Eisenh...p=true&rt=nc

Strike is good, but with the fingerprint on the back of his neck, it loses a lot of eye appeal for me.

Nothing about the color of that one looks suspicious to me. I will be surprised if that ships, that's a heck of a beating to take on a low auction result

Not that bad a coin. Some registry guy or reseller must be very happy.

Not bad, but still out of my depth. My set will be lucky to get an MS-64 for 1971 and 1972 business strikes. It really hurts not being in the mint sets those two years.

I see the PCGS list at $225. I think the guy got a bit of a deal but not a steal

Nope, PCGS $900. http://www.PCGS.com/cert/81631874That's quite a bargain. But the seller does have some negative feedback. This being slabbed, most of that wouldn't apply here, but one did say they had to go through ebay to get the item shipped. We'll see (or maybe not)...

Ah, so you searched off of the certification number then? I was just using the price guide. My bad

I don't see the "+750" value for the coin as is in the sellers description but certainly a NICE IKE! Especially for $152.50

Quote: Nothing about the color of that one looks suspicious to me. I totally agree. I just thought it was odd that they would offer a coin of this caliber as a no reserve auction with a low starting bid but list artificially toned clad proof Ikes for BIN $24.99. I don't know if I've ever even seen a 71-P in MS66 (PCGS) offered on ebay like this. It seems that every one I've encountered has been a BIN listing for at least several hundered. I'm sure I missed some, though.

The coin doesn't look 66 to me, maybe why it went low
