Looking at this circulated Oregon Trail commemorative coin, are there any concerns? I thought it looked authentic and a fair enough grade and I like the look of the coin, but I am not that experienced with these coins. My co-worker bought it and it seemed like a fair enough price it was listed at but he was a bit worried about it being authentic so I told him I would let some of you experts take a peek and give your opinion. Thanks.

From the ebay images, it appears the coin is genuine. I would tend to grade it VF vs. XF, however.

I'm sure one of our CCF experts in circulated US commemorative coins will be along shortly to provide expert insights.

Looks OK, I'd say high VF.

Thanks for the input. I agree probably around VF instead of XF, but I thought it had nice eye appeal for the grade. He paid somewhere around $80 so I thought it was a good deal.

I say authentic and in the VF30/VF35 range ... a nice coin at the price for a collector desiring an example of this lovely commemorative at a reasonable price.
