Hoe do you know if a coin is 10 percent, 5 percent, etc. misaligned? And how much of a premium would it bring? Thanks for any help
Rest in Peace

coin obsessed...(need help?)

Premiums all depend on coin, amount of offset, date showing or not. You won't make millions on 'em, lucky to get a few bucks on a cent w/date @ 10-25%. Not a very big market, but always a few on ebay who think so. Seen some go in online auctions for under $10. Hope that helps!

For a misaligned die it really depends on if any of the devices have fell off the edge such as the five on my example. I picked this one up for less than 10 dollars only because the seller had it listed as an off center but in reality it's a misaligned die. you can look on ebay and off centers are dime a dozen but I believe A MAD is much harder to find especially in mint state

with all the above. I'm not sure, but I think the blank part is the percentage. If it was in the middle of the coin, it would be 50%.

You would need to take a measurement of the blank space at the largest point, for example lets say 1.5 mm. Then divide that by 19, example 1.5/19=0.07894737. Next you will multiply by 100, example 0.07894737x100=7.89473684. So example would be 7.8 percent misaligned or round it to nearest for 7.9 percent off

The info above was shared with me from a fellow CCF member, I hope it helps as it did for me.

Yes, measure it at the widest point. If it's 1/3 of the coin, it rounds off to 33%. If it's 1/10 of the coin it's 10%. This method works on any coin. You have to ask yourself, "what percentage of the whole coin is the blank spot?"
