Here's a definite favorite of mine from 2015. The coin is a silver dollar struck/released by the Royal Canadian Mint ( RCM) in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae. McCrae wrote the poem to honor his fallen friends and fellow soldiers when he was fighting in World War I. The poem, and the red poppy flower he highlighted in the poem, have become international symbols of remembrance for the fallen. I really like the red enamel applied over the engraved design.

Thought I'd add one from my primary collecting pursuit within Canadian coins - its commemorative silver dollars. The SD shown here is from 2011 and commemorates the 100th anniversary of the the striking of patterns for what was to be Canada's first silver dollar. It wound up not being struck, however, and Canada went without a SD until 1935. The design of the 2011 non-circulating legal tender (NCLT) coin shown is a reasonable facsimile of the original 1911 coin, with the primary changes being the switch to a dual date and replacement of "ONE" with "1" to comply with current Canadian bilingual requirements for its coins; both updates are seen on the coin's reverse.

I've long thought that the 1987 gold Quarter Eagle that was issued to commemorate the bicentennial of the US Constitution is one of the series' stunners! It was designed by Marcel Jovine.
