Here's a 2013 commemorative silver dollar struck by the Royal Canadian Mint ( RCM) to mark the 250th anniversary of the end of what came to be known as "The Seven Years War" - a global conflict fought in North and South America, as well as in Europe, the Indian subcontinent and the Philippines.

Here are two versions of one of the silver dollar design types issued by Canada in 2017 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation.

The first coin - unadorned - was available individually. The second coin - selectively gold-plated - was only available as part of the Fine Silver Proof Set.

Very nice! I like how the use of a round earth style map.

This Token from 1967, commemorated Canada's 100 Year Confederation and featured a dual effigy, of Queen Victoria and her great grand daughter, Queen Elizabeth II.

Here's another 2017 commemorative silver dollar from Canada - the Royal Canadian Mint ( RCM) lived by the mantra "Early and Often!" regarding its issue of commemorative coins in 2017. Within the commemorative silver dollar series, there were seven different coins released to mark the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation.

Here's the red paint (not enamel) version of the "Home and Native Land" silver dollar I presented above. The interlocking, variably-sized maple leaves in the background give the coin a spherical, ball-like appearance - it works! The coin was only available as part of a Limited Edition Proof Set.

Fortunately for collectors - this one included! - the other coins in the proof set were struck using their standard base metal composition. So, the cost for the set was $99.95 CAD vs. the $234.95 CAD the RCM charged for its full silver proof sets.
