Fiston2005, I checked that link, and altho I don't speak French, I was able to get a great deal out of the posts. I do speak Spanish, so it gives me a bit of an edge. One day I may add French to my linguistic acquisitions.

Andre, I just spoke with a high ranking official at one Caisse region (St-Jean). My contact said that the demand for the 400th coin has been far less than what they anticipated! Really? I don't know if this is true for all regions but I have a hard time believing this.

If this is true let's hope the Mint/Caisses does not offload the sought after twonies to unconcerned merchants... They would unwittingly condemn these poor coins to their brutal cash registers. What a shame that would be. I want MY roll NOW!

^ I'm with Marc! One roll is all I wanted, I wasn't trying to be greedy.

Andre - my French is pretty poor, but fortunately, I deal with very few Francophones in my job, but I suspect I'll learn more once my son starts getting French homework next year! LOL

And not only this but the Caisse person is possibly SORTING and GRABBING the coins from the dreadful cash register, TOUCHING the core with OILY fingers, RUBBING the coins together while counting 1-2-3-4-5 (shlick, shlik, shlik,...) while dropping into a HUMID palm, sliding them across a DUSTY counter - after which YOU pick them with your fingers and put them in your pocket etc... Wonderful.

Hi Marc

all together there is about 1000 Caisse Populaire across Canada and USA,i was told that each one of them would have 100 rolls to be issue,so this may give you an idear of how many coins are out there getting scratched bang and what ever.So if you have a chance to put your hand on uncirculated fresh from the roll keep them like gold because the one you will find in your change have chance to be mess.

Andre,

So that's about 2,000,000.

I learned from a very reputable source that the "limit per member" was imposed by the Caisses - not by the Mint. Maybe most knew that - but I didn't. Furthermore, the Winipeg facility has been dumping loads of rolls to dealers. That's why you can find rolls on sale on ebay and elsewhere and wonder how they got them. I find this outrageous for those (particularly in Quebec) who will need to pay extra just to get a roll.

Hey Marc
Further more the roll found on ebay where there before the date of issue, and yes Desjardins did issue order to all teller not to give away roll and only 3 to 5 coins per member I had to fight with my teller to get a roll of them and I guess I was making to mutch noise they give me one

I still have loose coins about 10 of them I went around and got the most I could get from Caisse around my place, some of those twoonie where already reserved for members of this forum and I guess all the one that did ask for those as receive them.
