I have five other 1982 pennies and they all weigh 2.5 except for one that weighs 3.1 grams. Wrong planchet maybe?

It's normal. The 1982 cents were minted in both 95% copper (3.11g) and later in copper-plated zinc (2.5g).

You will likely find many more 1982 zinc cents than copper cents because of copper hoarders.

1982 was a transitional year, early part of year and 1981 was made with copper weighing 3.1 grams. Later composition was changed to zinc weighing 2.5 grams
