Kangaroo Koala Kookaburra
These used to be the standards of collecting for new coins each year.
Have they lost interest or has all the coloured and novelty coins taken over.

Just wondering.

I will admit my collection went to nuggets from the Kangaroo Koala Kookaburra coins.

And I do have a nice sort of pre and post decimals- just was wondering what you all thought of all the new bells and whistles?

I collect Koala, Kookaburra and Kangaroo...carded and uncarded versions.

I also collect Swan, Wedge Tail, Saltwater Crocodile, Zoo Series, Stock Horse.

I do not collect the colorized versions, nor high relief, nor proof, nor anything else that is not straight up silver.

I do believe Koala, Kookaburra and Kangaroo are still strong because they are such high quality and don't suffer the issues many other annual silver bu issues suffer.

I do not believe any weakening they suffer is due to people being very excited about one off special coins, or colorize coins or any of the other gimmicks.

I believe the weakening (if it exists) would just be due to the competition they face, not only from the expanding world bu series, but from the competition that Australia has created for them just in the sheer volume of Australia annual series.

Kookaburra was 1990
Kangaroo was 1993
Koala was 1997

Then pretty much stability.

Then in 2013 Saltwater Croc came out, Stock Horse came out, 2014 Wedge Tail came out, 2017 Swan came out and 2017 Zoo Series (Archie Dingo) came out.

Plus on the larger world front, the last few years have seen an explosion of series, some of them also very high quality.

Are there any aftermarket (wooden) 3-coin cases for the proof Kangaroo, Koala, and Kookaburra coins?
