I started collecting RIC coins and I identified this coin RIC VII 331v on my collection. I was trying to also find what was its value-denomination since commemorative coins were used as money but I couldn't find it.

Anybody knows what is the denomination of this coin ? Thank you

Welcome to the list.

You have a beautiful example of the Urbs Roma commemorative with a desirable mint mark from the fourth officina at Rome.

No one knows the name the ancients gave to this bronze denomination, so the most widespread convention is to label it by its size as an "AE3" if it measures at least 15mm across, or "AE4" if it is smaller. You will also hear terms like half-follis, half-maiorina, nomisma, but I think the most neutral is the size name.

Nice coin.

I used to own that coin. I don't think your photo does it justice so I'm posting mine from my "sold" gallery on FAC. I'm glad to see that you own it. Congrats!

It's hard to come by this type from Rome in such nice condition

Nice!

One of my favourite coins. Who can resist an ancient commemorative coin?

Here is mine. Originally from an uncleaned lot. It was fairly encrusted by memory and took lots of time and effort to clean.
