I picked this silver dollar up at our local coin club meeting tonight. Apparently someone carried this around in their pocket for a very long time. Anyone care to take a guess at the year?

Thank you DBM! The image of the parliament building is barely visible, but a faint outline is still there.

No DBM, the fellow I purchased it from had recently acquired the coin. He was told that the owner carried the coin around in his pocket. I believe it was sort of a good luck charm...

I sent a link to this thread to a person who has a "great" low-ball collection. That coin would be right at home there.

Sometimes I wonder, will a coin ever be graded S-00?

RoyCoinBoy if it was slick then the date would not be readable, deeming the coin "ungradable". Year: 1928

Outstanding indeed ... assuming you Canadian coin experts can identify the specific date.

Thanks for sharing.

I am not very familiar with lowball coins. Do they carry much of a premium over melt value?
