I have been kicking the can on this for a while now. I am considering buying boxes of nickels to search. Been a long time since I've done that. I know the people there including the branch manager. I should try and use that to my advantage. Maybe in the near future I'll give them a call and see if that would be a problem...maybe have them ready for a pick up. But I'd kinda feel funny returning the remaining coins. I'm not using a CoinStar. Those are a rip-off!

If you can get a bank with a machine or a credit union for dumping, then do that. Otherwise, consider if a coinstar gift cars could be a way to get some of your shopping done.

Never return coins to the bank from which you received them.
Rest in Peace

Aristarcus , at least not the same branch. I get my boxes from one downtown and return to the one which has the counter , most times in smaller burgs are the main branches. Never had problems with this bank but have had trouble with others, especially those with customer use counters...the amount of coins I was dumping (10-15K) would clog up and ruin those not-so-hearty smaller units and was asked to go else where!

Sounds like a good way to work on your new nickel set. I wish you good luck.
