Gentlemen, I cannot make out whether the date is L'an 6 or L'an 8 or even an 8 over something. Could somebody with sharper eyes and brain please tell me. The Strasbourg mint mark is clear but not that digit Michael367

The French catalogue Le Franc notes an 8 over 7 and 8 over 6 are known. It is difficult to see which you have from the picture. It is doubtful it adds any premium to the value since overdates are fairly common during this period of French coins.
