I've run across lots of woodys lately and this is the best of the bunch that I have found, especially the reverse. I thought I would share it with you. (Or do you think it is roller lines?) Thanks

My vote is for roller lines and, I guess, a slightly rotated die.

I still like the looks of those, though.

Too bad it's not a Small Date.

OJC These are woodys, they are flaws in the alloy mixing think of swirling melting chocolate...

OldJoeClark,
That is a nice example of roller lines. As a general rule,if it is from the late 70's till the 1990's it is roller lines.

Crazyb0 and John1, thanks for the photos and clarification. I see those are early coins and the swirl effect in them. I thought I had read that the thin lines indicated it was a woody. Good to know the year range for these also. I guess what I have is a roll of roller line cents. I think they are neat anyway and will keep them for the grand youngins. Thanks again, you two are always lots of help.

Roller lines are similar, but are different than a improper alloy mix.
