I just bought a roll of Walking Liberty half dollars at a auction mostly 1940s I would like to know how much silver is this roll your reply will be appricated

Each coin has $6.09 worth of silver as of april 27th which accounts for .36169 oz of silver per coin

That figure is for uncirulated. You can lose 10-15% when they are worn down to AG/G condition.

If you plan to melt, Kitco prices it at $10.80 x face, or $5.40 each.

If I understand the question, you are asking how much silver in the whole roll, which would be 20 coins X .3617 ounces each = 7.234 ounces of silver.

Remember, base silver pricing has two levels. Buy, melt plus a premium and sell, melt less a discount. It varies greatly based on size of purchase. This is bullion structure, but really applies to scrap coin silver, too.
