PCGS prices are too high, don't go by them. John1

Quote: PCGS prices are too high, don't go by them. I agree. This is full retail. Treat it like a maximum and expect to pay a lot less.

Seems like I paid around $40 for a graded MS 65 in an older ANACS holder about a year ago.

Well, I was looking at the recent auction sales and "for sale now" listed on the PCGS site, not just their "price guide" (which I agree is always on the high side). One of the HA listings on the PCGS page went for $149 -- I wouldn't pay that much, that's for sure. That said, the ebay listings do seem to hover in the $35-50 range, though there are exceptions on either side.

Should be able to buy a nice one for under $50.

Remember that RB indicates more than 5% red but not more than 95% red. A huge range. The price will change significantly, even on the "same" grade from the same TPG depending on how much red is actually showing.
