I know I've got nothing with an extinct animal on it. I can participate with a 38 mm commemorative coin from Princess Diana's Royal Wedding. There's a joke about the Royal family and extinction there someplace.

Charles sure is a slimy lizard, on his way to extinction!

What, the one that the royals are worse than southerns when it comes to inbreeding...

I'll do it myself...

Yes! Do it now.

But to do not link it here, Eddie's language can be a bit coarse.

Sorry, folks. This round was supposed to end yesterday, but the time really flew on me (not to mention very few entries with actual extinct animals ).

I thought a while and decided to give the benefit of the doubt to Finn235 in this case, so here are the final standings:

Finn235 - 4
bd251 - 2
pepactonius - 2
jbuck - 1
Crazyb0 - 1
chafemasterj - 1

I officially pass the torch to Finn235!

Thanks all! Another round I didn't expect to win!

For this round, let's go back to the roots - a coin that is easy to get a partial match, but tough to get an exact match.

Soviet Union, 1/2 kopek 1927

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Despite enormous mintages in the tens of millions, this entire type is rare today because they were forcibly confiscated and destroyed in 1928 for whatever fiscal policy seemed like a good idea at the time. These are the only Soviet 1/2 kopek coins issued, and were the last 1/2 kopek coins ever issued.

Points:

Place
Soviet Union - 2 points
Russia (Empire or Republic) or any state formerly part of the USSR - 1 point

Denomination
1/2 kopek (or 1/2 cent/penny etc) - 2 points
1/4 or 1 kopek - 1 point

Year
1927 - 2 points
1920s - 1 point

Other
Legend only design - 1 point
Coins with some variation of "Workers of the World, Unite!" - 1 point
Coins that were very common (>10,000,000 mintage) but today are rare due to forced recall - 1 point
Coins that were the last of their denomination ever issued - 1 point

That would make a perfect match worth 10 points. Winner will be announced Tuesday morning!
