I just did, just to make sure he is okay. Hoping he just forgot about this thread. His last post on the site was on July 5th in the CRH forum.

Age of Extinction

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Here is a large dinosaur token that I'm pretty sure my wife got out of a box of Fruity Pebbles in 1988. Let's see what other dinosaur coins, tokens and medals our members have! Not only that, let's include any extinct animal. I'll give points for other criteria, so everyone should be able to post something.

2 points for each extinct animal pictured (both sides, including duplicates)

1 point for being dated 1988

1 point for aluminum

1 point for 38mm or larger diameter

So, the token pictured above would be worth 21 points. As always, ties go to the member who posted first. This round will end Thursday evening!

Edit: if a tie involves a piece with an extinct animal and one without, the winner will be the piece showing an extinct animal (as that is the focus), no matter who posted first.

Hmm, I don't have any large aluminum coins (biggest I think is about 30-35mm) and certainly none with extinct animals on them, so I'll go for an easy one.

The extinct European Lion, depicted from life on an ancient Greek coin from Kyzikos, modern Turkey. This one uses the head of an unidentified large feline as a control symbol; probably a lioness of the same species.

2 points or 4; I'll leave that up to you!

For now, until I can get home to look more through what I may have, here are two old dinosaurs, extinct because they're dead and way over the 38mm mark
