On another note, this is the first time I have seen a Dragon Slayer 1/2 penny. Gonna have to ad some of those to my growing want list. Thanks for sharing that one Dorado.

Well, had some time to do this morning so here it is, this challenge ends Friday at 12 noon forum time.

Montcollector got me thinking of horses, not just a normal riden style, but a bucking bronco type like the Dragon Slayer. So here's the challenge coin. It is a 1923 German Notgeld 50 MILLION mark coin from Province Westfalen. It is 38mm diameter, weighs but 5.5gr and is aluminum.



So,points are scored as follows:


For a larger denomination coin(not medal, an issued coin, any nationality) = 3 points
For exact match = 2 points
For a coin of this same venue(emergency coinage) of more than 1 million, any nationality = 1 point
For a coin OVER 32mm = 1 point
For a bucking bronco(rearing horse ONLY!) = 1 point
For a less than handsome portrait () = 1 point
Foreign language on coin = 1 point
For a Medal alignment reverse = 1 point (0 for a coin alignment
For material other than common coin materials (copper, silver, gold, cupronickel) = 1 point

A lot of chances and combinations for points. Post as many as you think may take the cake(like to see them all!), highest points get the honor of continuing this tradition!

We all know there is "inflation currency", bills of outrageous denominations (Africa, comes to mind...), but how about coinage? Other than German Notgeld, did other nations issue such emergency coins? And a bit of research just may turn up some interesting coins here, especially within this series of Westfalen...ah, OOPS!... said too much...
