Quote: January1may,sorry I am sticking with these dates, I didn't want any Ancient type coins in this challenge. I was going to use 1700 to current and thought I would add another 100 years. That's unfortunate - when I said "a few months" I did mean a few months, i.e. partway into 1599 (and it could just as easily have been 1600, and probably was, but I can't be sure). I guess I'll just post my backup answer instead. I'd need to photograph it properly, though - my existing pics of it are terrible...

Congrats, Mont! Quote: My Wife really liked the colors and how it changes. "oh that is very pretty". I will have to stash that tidbit away. It is quite an interesting coin.

Thanks Mrs. Arby96 Since I just hosted a round I will accept the win but, if no one objects, I will pass the ball to um let's see....how about Spruett? I haven't seen Spruett host one for a while. So Spruett I take the ball and pass it to you.

I appreciate that, Mont. If it's okay, it will have to wait until Saturday evening/night to come up with something.

It is becoming more and more difficult to come up with something that has not been done before. Let's add some local flavor! I was born and raised (for the most part ) in Texas , and the above bus token is the most interesting piece I have relating to my current surroundings and upbringing. I don't have many, really. For this round, post your favorite coin, banknote, token or medal that represents where you live or where you are from.Anything up to the largest subnational division is acceptable, whether it be state, province, or even federal city (like Moscow). Basically, anything that is some sort of subdivision of a nation. I hope that makes sense. Any stories to go along would be nice. At the end, I will choose my favorite based on criteria I haven't determined yet, and declare a winner. This round will end as soon as the MLB National League Wild Card game begins...

Pretty easy one for me: I was born just outside of Atlanta, maybe a 15 minute drive from Stone Mountain. I was raised in Kennesaw, still only a 30 minute drive from the mountain (you know, without traffic...) Ironically, the only times I have been since I was old enough to remember was with my wife and her friends from out of state who wanted to see it.

All I got is a Gold plated MO quarter, and it ain't worth the effort to even take a pix. Was born and raised outside of Chicago, but have nothing even IL related. Lincoln is getting OLD!
