Counterstampped coins will get the same credit as encased and elongated if the counterstamp includes the same date as the coin

It's also commemorating an anniversary.

Spruett001 I have pulled approx. two dozen out of circulation while CRH. Here is another Anniversary coin, one year over 76, closest I could find.

More nice entries! I'll try to catch up on the scoring later today. I'm trying to decide how to score dorado's coin. From the info I can find online, it seems that the dime can be removed from the divot repair tool to be used as a ball mark. Should it be considered encased or not? I think I need input from the other players.

I think he was merely looking for participation points, but I think the coolness merits something.

All Encased Coins are removeable, it is just a matter of the force needed. I say it counts as encased.

The Russia coin is out of the case in this photo, its a slide style case so one can removed easily.

Because those sets with the stamps were available at post office locations after the tournament, correct?

Pending a definite answer to that, it looks like mysilveryears will probably be the winner with the first 5 point coin posted.

Whoa Ho Ho.. two in a row!
Hope everyone is having a pleasant and rewarding holiday.

The challenge this time around will be . . . To post a coin, medal or token 'in the Spirit of the Season'; however you choose to interpret that, or whatever it means to you; or just in view of some round shiny object you happen to have on hand. No judgments; no specific dates, areas or time frames. The only requirement is that the piece contain some symbolic representation of Christmas, the season of joy and good will toward all.

Points will be awarded based on the total number of 'seasonal symbols' contained on the object, such as:

wreath
decorated tree
stocking
presents
Nativity scene
sleigh
Santa
etc etc etc.

You get the idea. Bonus of two points for an exact match of this Franklin Mint bronze medallion from years gone by.
Best wishes to everyone. May your goals both personal and numismatic be realized in some form in the coming New Year. -msy
