I was going to post a slightly earlier dated coin of New Zealand, but am opting for this 1949 50 Centimes from New Caledonia.

I suppose New Zealand is farthest, but the Cook Islands are still pretty far away (10881 mi): Cook Islands -- 2 cents, 1974:

Quote: Sarajevo ---> Hawaii 12,769 miles @mysilveryears, I think you mean kilometers, not miles. Very nice entries so far. I was hoping for some submissions from small islands. I will try to post a leaderboard tomorrow with distances. I realized I didn't declare an ending time, so this will go until the end of Friday (within a few hours). That's the usual three-day allowance.

Entries so far: Palouche - 3,379 miles* Arkie - 9,798 mi bd251 - 11,238 mi jbuck - 9,798 mi keith12 - 6,559 mi mysilveryears - 7,937 mi mcshilling - 1,008 mi (to London; the Antarctic Territories don't seem to be recognized by anyone as an independent sovereignty of any sort and don't have a capital, as such.) Spence - 10,096 mi (this is under French rule, but does have a capital city of its own, so there's a loophole.) pepactonius - 10,881 mi This is a great showing so far! bd251 leads at the moment. *Miles chosen as the unit because I am American.

Quote: Distance from Sarajevo to Chatham Islands Distance is 18825 kilometers or 11697 miles or 10164 nautical miles. There seem to be a few fantasy coins for the Chatham Islands, but I wonder if any of these coins have ever been anywhere near the islands? I suppose the capital is the same as New Zealand's.
