The new challenge is to a post-1900 Western coin with the fewest letters and numbers on it. An example coin from 1911, with 5 letters and numbers:

Austro-Hungarian Empire / Austria -- 2 heller, 1911:
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!
Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

------------------------------------------------------

More detailed rules:

1) Each readable letter and number in dates, mintmarks, legends, mottos, designer initials and signatures, etc. count as one point (both sides of the coin, and the edge)

2) Punctuation marks (like dot separators, dashes, stars) do not count

3) Coins from 1900 to present only (many early coins have no writing at all).

4) Coins with latin-based alphabets only (letters need to be distinct, and not joined together or implicit as in Arabic/Hebrew, etc.)

5) Coins with CJK characters (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other similar languages) are not allowed.

6) Partial coins that have been cut into fractions are not allowed. Portions that have been removed from larger coins before being issued (example: holey dollar + dump) are not allowed.

7) Multi-part coins that can be separated into parts (like the general relativity coin which has a ball bearing or jigsaw puzzle coins that form one larger image) are not allowed.

8) Coins with holograms are not allowed, if there are letters/digits in the holograms, especially if they are invisible from certain angles.

9) official coins issued by recognized governments only (no tokens, exonumia, stamps, currency, bars, private rounds, patterns, trial pieces, etc.)

10) Error coins and partially or completely unstruck planchets are not allowed. The intended number of letters/digits in the coin design is counted for this challenge.

11) Coins where the letters/digits are worn off or have been otherwise removed/obscured/obliterated/defaced/etc. are not allowed. (dateless Buffalo nickels or Standing Liberty quarters, for example)

12) There is no bonus for an exact match.

13) In case of a points tie, the earliest post wins. Note that the coin with the fewest points wins. If one user posts multiple coins, the one with the lowest point total counts.

14) Posts with no coin image will receive 10000 points. Posts showing only one side will get 9000 points. If you have a uniface coin, please show the back, too.

Contest starts now and ends 2019/04/30 at 23:59:59, forum time.

Seems like I ought to be able to do even better though.

@pepactonius, just askin' but isn't @dorado's score actually 6?

Dorado submitted two entries, 2 heller and 10 heller. The 2 heller is 5 points (just like yours) and the 10 heller is 6 points. The rules state that only the best entry counts.

Maybe I should list all valid entries on the leaderboard?

I also have an Austrian 2 Heller, but since that's been done, this is the next best I have photographed (poorly):

That's 12 points by my count. I may see what else I have...
